The Reality:

Athletics scholarships tend to focus on the athletic achievements of the students, while things like leadership, character, and to what extent these athletes contribute to their communities tends to take a back seat when assessing success.   

The Ask:

How can we show our support of and engage diverse, high-achieving scholar athletes throughout the U.S.?  

The Work:

TMI designed, built, and executed the annual Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program, which awards $400,000 in scholarships each year. We recruited and vetted applicants, chose winners, and created media events to publicize winners’ stories. We recruited more than 14,000 applicants annually and consistently earned more than 100 million media impressions annually. Among the most exciting part of the program is planning the 20 surprise winner events, sometimes in partnership with teams like the Knicks and the Heat.
